—Our actions regarding the environment—
Based on its management principle of contributing to the well-being of society through precision measurement technologies, Mitutoyo Corporation provides precision measuring instruments to its customers by way of related design, development, manufacturing, sales, and service activities. At this company, all of us are focused on our Corporate Motto that includes bringing about a “Good environment,” and we are keenly aware that global environmental conservation is one of the most important challenges faced by the human race. Every employee contributes to the continued maintenance and improvement of our environmental management system—which spans all business activities, products, and services that impact the global environment—and makes efforts to protect the global environment and prevent environmental pollution.

(1)	We will construct an independent environmental management system to reduce the impact on the environment caused by our business activities, products, and services.
(2)	We will comply with regulations and ordinances, as well as other requests that Mitutoyo has decided to accept, in the overall conduct of our business activities.
(3)	We will make efforts in the following areas in order to prevent environmental pollution: 1) Development and design of environmentally-friendly products. 2) Promotion of natural resource and energy conservation. 3) Waste reduction and promotion of recycling. 4) Reduction in the use of toxic chemical substances.
(4)	We will establish environment-related objectives and targets, periodically review them, and work to continually improve our performance in the environment-related area.
(5)	We will document our environmental policies, conduct activities to promote education and awareness, and disseminate related information to all employees (including those from related companies) working for Mitutoyo.
(6)	These environmental policies will be officially announced both inside and outside the company.

At MITUTOYO, we are seeking to develop more environment-friendly products that minimize environmental impacts in various ways. One way is by promoting "green procurement" activities, which emphasize using environment-friendly parts and materials.



MITUTOYO actively promotes the application of the European RoHS Directive (a directive of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union that restricts the use of specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment), and currently offers RoHS-compliant products such as the following.
