Mitutoyo Corporation (HQ: Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki-shi, President: Yoshiaki Numata) releases a Bluetooth® edition of the U-WAVE-TM/TC measurement data wireless communication system, popularly known as U-WAVE fit, that improves workability with downsizing and cost reduction by enabling fetching measurement data from measuring instruments equipped with Digimatic output via a wireless communication system and easily passing them into Excel*1 or Notepad files on a Windows PC. U-WAVE fit will be available from April 13 this year in Japan. Expanding demand is expected given the increasing need for computerization of inspection result records.

U-WAVE-TMB/TCB enables users to instantly transmit measurement data to PCs, smart phones and tablets via a wireless communication system, reducing manual input errors and improving working efficiency and data reliability. Since it is easy to attach to the existing measuring instrument, no measuring instrument replacement is required for introduction and the cost burden can be reduced to the minimum. We have also developed dedicated software and applications for the wireless transmission of measurement data to PCs, smart phones and tablets.

While continuing the advantages of being possible to use for both the currently available models and discontinued models (except for some models) and that the transmission unit and the connection unit can be detached and reused as well as U-WAVE fit, linkage with smart phones and tablets is now available in addition to linkage with PCs. By supporting Bluetooth® connection, the reception unit required to use U-WAVE fit is no longer needed. U-WAVE-TMB/TCB offers further cost reduction and enhanced operability as the greatest features.

There are two U-WAVE-TMB/TCB models. One is U-WAVE-TMB for micrometers and the other is U-WAVE-TCB for calipers. Both models offer a buzzer type and a water/dust-proof IP67 type. The buzzer type will inform users of correct data reception with a buzzer and LEDs. The water/dust-proof IP67 type is suitable for dusty environments and is only equipped with LEDs. These types can also be used according to the purpose.
