Introducing the "SV-2000/SV-3000 Series" Surface Roughness Testers |

Mitutoyo Corporation has developed a new series of surface roughness testers, the "SV-2000 series / SV-3000 series", that employ large color LCDs and allow touch panel operations. These new series of surface roughness testers will be released for sales on June 21, 2001. In recent years, as demands for higher machining accuracy and better quality control of the surface textures of parts have increased, the revision and enactment of the JIS standards concerning surface roughness have taken place. Mitutoyoﾕs technologies developed over its long history as a maker of surface roughness measuring instruments, and answers to customer needs, are concentrated on the SV-2000 series / SV-3000 series. These instruments perform high-accuracy surface measurements and are made in compliance with the latest JIS and ISO standards. Equipped with a large-size color LCD, touch panel, and comprehensive visual icons, these new surface roughness testers are geared for visual inspection and easy operation. One SV-2000 or 3000 series instrument can perform both simple repetitive parameter evaluations, in which assessed profile and parameter calculation results are displayed by a one-touch operation, and highly sophisticated analyses using various graphs and charts indispensable for research and development. The SV-2000 series / SV-3000 series surface roughness testers are composed of the measuring unit, which is selectable according to the customerﾕs needs, such as the workpiece size or automatic measurement, and the display/analysis unit that allows an unified easy operation. 700 machines, as a total of all the series, are expected to be sold in the first fiscal year. |
