Announcement on Change of Accuracy Indication for Digimatic Indicators and
Expansion of Models to Which Inspection Certificate Is Attached

Mitutoyo has changed the terms used to express the accuracy of Digimatic indicators and expanded the models to which inspection certificate is attached.

1. Change of indication of accuracy (to support MPE)
     - Applicable models: All Digimatic indicator models
     - Reason for change: Changed to indication of accuracy (MPE *1) to comply with the applicable ISO standard.
*1 MPE = Maximum Permissible Error
     - Details of change: Changed indication of accuracy (no changes to standard value or accuracy inspection method)
     - Wide-range accuracy ⇒ Error of indication for the total measuring range (MPEE)
     - Hysteresis ⇒ Retrace error (MPEH) *2
     - Repeatability ⇒ Repeatability (MPER) *2
*2: Additional standards are applied to the additional models to which the inspection certificate is
         attached according to this change.
    - Timing of change: From those shipped from the factory in July 2020 (change to be reflected starting
with English version of General Catalog No. E2020)
    - Inspection and calibration service: Inspection certificate with the accuracy indication described above will be issued
from inspection/calibration orders received in or after July 2020.

2. Expansion of models to which inspection certificate is attached
     - Applicable models: ID-B, ID-F, ID-N, ID-U (additional models)
     - Description of change: Start attaching as standard practice an inspection certificate that shows data from inspection
conducted before shipment from factory (after this change, inspection certificate will be attached to
   all Digimatic indicator models).
     - Description of change: Added retrace error (MPEH) and repeatability (MPER) standards.
     - Timing of change: From those shipped from the factory in July 2020 (change to be reflected starting with English
version of General Catalog No. E2020).
     - Inspection and calibration service: Inspection certificate whose accuracy indication is changed as described above
and to which the standards are added will be issued from inspection/calibration orders received in or after July 2020.
