Status of Production at Mitutoyo Plants and Facilities
Damaged by the Earthquake, as of April 15, 2011

We extend our deepest sympathy to all those who have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami disaster in northern Japan.

The following is a report on the status of production at Mitutoyo plants damaged by the earthquake, as of April 15, 2011.

On March 25 we reported that production of Digimatic measuring instrument electronic modules and some other components had resumed at the Kiyohara Production Department in the Utsunomiya Operations.

Through company-wide restoration efforts and with the cooperation of equipment manufacturers, as of April 15 we have managed to recommence production of all components at the Kiyohara Production Department. There is still the possibility, however, that uncertain conditions regarding power supply and the availability of raw materials and parts may affect production in the future.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and once again ask for your understanding of these exceptional circumstances.
