Second Report Concerning Damage to Mitutoyo Plants and Facilities Caused by the Earthquake in Northern Japan
We extend our deepest sympathy to all those who have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami disaster in northern Japan.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has expressed concern and support for Mitutoyo

The status of damage to Mitutoyo from the earthquake as of March 25 is as follows:

On March 14 we reported that a portion of the Kiyohara Factory building in the Utsunomiya Plant was damaged and that investigations and planning for inspection and repair of the production facilities at the factory had commenced.
As of March 25, repairs to the damaged portion of the building and to production facilities were completed and production of Digimatic measuring instrument electronic modules and other components resumed.
We are also making all kinds of restoration efforts to minimize the impact of the earthquake with regard to Linear Scale unit production, but there is still a possibility that shipments could be delayed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding of these exceptional circumstances and your cooperation.
